In a fantastic year for Water Plus, work with customers by the water retailer has reached the final in a string of award events.

In addition to their fantastic recognition, Water Plus also announced their place on our Utilities Supply Framework for the public sector in 2022, covering water and wastewater, managed by us here at Pagabo on behalf of Red Kite Learning Trust.

The company, which has also installed data loggers on water meters to track water use throughout each day for hundreds of organisations in 2021, has been named finalists for work with their customers in the Quality and Customer Experience Forum Awards 2022.

We're proud of the the Water Plus team who are also in the running for the Quality, Knowledge Management & Learning category, in UK awards for best practice in customer operations. In other events taking place this year, they were named Finalist in the Digital Transformation category in the industry’s Utility Week Awards 2021.

In recent months, Water Plus received National Silver in the international Green Apple Environment Awards, after their work helping organisations cut water waste and impacts on the environment – along with raising awareness around water use.

The water retailer was also Finalists in two business award categories – and received Certificates of Recognition at an event in November in the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards 2021.

Andy Hughes, Water Plus Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to receive recognition of all our work to help organisations and raise awareness around the opportunities – and savings - from looking closer at water use, to taking steps to cut waste to limit risks to how businesses and other organisations operate. Our technical water expertise and customer information and support is helping cut water waste across England and Scotland and identifying issues early that may cause disruption, which also help keep running costs low. Plus, less water waste means less carbon created, so less Scope 3 emissions, helping towards environmental targets and Net Zero.

“We’re committed to making sustainability and minimising our environmental impact core to our business, our people and our customers. From helping sites install water reduction approaches and extra tracking along with highlighting how water efficiency helps organisations, to increasing tree-planting in the UK, trialling innovative water cutting technology to cut water volumes and help towards sustainability goals, we’re taking action.”

Scott MacIndeor, Head of Advanced Services at Water Plus, said: “We manage the water and wastewater services for many organisations, including in the public sector - such as councils, schools, colleges, universities, UK Government-owned sites, hospitals and the emergency services - so we understand their different needs and drivers and we’ve helped organisations make significant savings across their portfolio, reducing water use and contributing to their sustainability aims and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”

Data loggers on water meters allowed a council that had them installed in 2021 to be alerted about a Town Hall that had water leaks losing 200 litres of water an hour.
