Sam Schofield joins the Pagabo ranks as our new procurement administrator.
Sam knows the difference between a wet break in the Lakes and sunny Ibiza, and counts Netflix and PlayStation as one of life’s little luxuries. He takes up the story...
How did you find yourself working at Pagabo?
I had heard a lot about Pagabo from Tom (Retallick) who is a framework administrator here. He is also a good friend so I applied to be part of the team as soon as I knew about the opening.
What’s your job title and what do you do?
Procurement Administrator – I look after the day-to-day running of our frameworks, as well as trying to provide support all the way through the business to keep everything running efficiently.
What’s the first thing you do when you get into the office?
Straight to the kettle to get a coffee.
This isn’t your first job.
No, I’ve worked in a predominantly accounting background before joining Pagabo in both practice and industry. I also did a year in sales so I have a varied knowledge base.
Part of the job is working from home so have you made any adjustment to make it better?
Not as of yet no…the more I start to work from home the more adjustments I’ll be making – Hopefully get myself a new monitor within the coming weeks.
How has it been connecting with clients?
It’s been a little bit of everything so far. Clients are responsive and easy to get hold of on email. As a team we’re always having meetings over Teams and Zoom – It keeps the social aspect well intact.
What part of the job would keep you awake at night?
Nothing really as of yet thankfully…hopefully, it stays that way.
You missed out on an overseas holiday because of COVID so where did you end up?
Unfortunately so (like a lot of other people) – I managed to get a few days away in the Lakes with my girlfriend which was nice despite the weather not being quite the same as Ibiza.
What do you do in your spare time?
My spare time revolves around sports really – Football, golf, gym. Any other time is spent as socially as possible with friends and family.
What about the luxuries in life?
Netflix and the PlayStation are the ones for me – a nice way to relax at the end of a day and chill out.
Thanks for chatting, Sam, and good luck in the role.
