Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme Funding

The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) is a government scheme for projects to reduce carbon emissions from public sector buildings. It’s designed to support the UK’s goal to reach net zero by 2050 and aims to reduce emissions from public sector buildings by 75% by 2037, from a 2017 baseline.

The PSDS funds projects that make public sector buildings more energy efficient. This includes installing low-carbon heating technologies like heat pumps, energy-efficient LED lighting systems, insulation and double glazing. It can also be used for smart building management systems to optimise energy use, and any supporting infrastructure needed to minimise carbon emissions.

How can Pagabo help with PSDS funding?

  • PSDS bid writing

The bidding process for PSDS funding is extremely competitive. The application window is only open for a few hours because demand is so great. So, it’s essential to be prepared. Alongside our framework partners, we enable immediate access to the support and information you need regarding funding application windows, what you need to do and when, to submit a successful bid.

  • Funding and project consultancy

We can advise which enhancements are eligible for PSDS funding – and which are not, to save you time and money. Then, when you’ve successfully bid, we can advise you on the building project so you know you’re getting the best value for your money.

  • Fabric improvements

Improvements to the fabric of your buildings – in the area of heat retention – are an important part of the PSDS, especially when they complement other efforts like improved heating. Our framework partners can advise you on including things like insulation, draught proofing and window upgrades in your PSDS bid.

  • Energy efficiency

The PSDS requires a holistic approach to increased energy efficiency. Our framework partners can help you write a plan, encompassing multiple aspects of energy efficiency, that gives you the best chance of a successful bid.

  • Changing heat sources away from fossil fuels

Shifting away from fossil fuels for your heating is a key requirement for the PSDS. Projects must replace end-of-life heating systems (like gas and oil boilers) with environmentally sound alternatives. Alongside our framework partners, we can advise which solutions will work best for your organisation and buildings.

  • Plus more

Your organisation and your estate have specific energy needs. Alongside our framework partners, we can help you assess what will benefit you the most, and advise you to create a bid with the best chance of success.
