Liverpool John Moores University award another key scheme through Pagabo

We are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our great relationship with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), following the appointment of Hesis on a key scheme. 

The project required a quick and compliant procurement route, which Pagabo were able to offer with Hesis awarded the £650,000 contract following a further competition process.

With their current fire and intruder security systems outdated, LJMU require new systems installed for the John Foster building. This is needed to ensure the safety of the students and others who are using the university building. In order to be awarded the contract LJMU stated that Hesis needed to have previous experience and success when dealing with alarm and fire systems. Along with the alarm installations being L2 BAFE certified Fire Alarm & SSAIB or NSI certified Intruder Alarms. It was important that these criteria were met in order to ensure the new systems met the latest regulations and could better provide safety and security to those using the building.

Following a compliant procurement process through our Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), leading Fire & Security and Mechanical & Electrical solutions provider, Hesis, were appointed as the supplier of choice, with work getting underway in July 2019. Using our DPS we were able to help them cut timescales, streamline the process and simplify tendering for both the client and the supplier.

Pagabo were able to ensure LJMUs specific requirements were met, with Hesis appointed on factors including their one-hour distance from Liverpool City Centre and their experience working within a conservation area and live teaching environment. 

Once complete this workspace will ensure students and other members of the university can study and work in a safer and more secure environment. If a fire was to break out, every second counts, so by having this new compliant system in place, it will better prepare everyone to evacuate. The security system will allow the students to have peace of mind that they are studying in a safe environment.
