At the start of this year our very own Jason Stapley kicked off the first Pagabo Foundation – Building Mental Health Awareness Trustee meeting at our offices down Bowlalley Lane, Hull.
The Pagabo Foundation has been set up in aid of signposting, raising awareness and funding existing causes and charities for mental health related issues in the construction industry. We aim to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and tackle the key issues head on.
The Trustees have made a commitment to the charity to actively promote and raise funds for the Foundation. There are currently eight trustees appointed:
Jason Stapley, Foundation Chairman and Managing Director - Pagabo
Malcolm Aiston, Managing Director - NTW Solutions
Pat Boyle, UK Managing Director - Morgan Sindall
Scott Corey, Strategic Accounts and Service Team Director - Wilmott Dixon
Dirk Pittaway, Regional Director - Robertson
Jon Sealy, UK Managing Director - Faithful+Gould
Gerard Toplass, Executive Chairman - Pagabo
Simon Toplass, CEO - Pagabo
The kick-off meeting was a great opportunity for the trustees to meet and introduce themselves to one another. It was a very positive meeting with discussions around mental health in the construction industry and how to raise the profile of the issue. All eight trustees are very keen to proactively make a difference in the construction industry and benefit the public.
“We want to promote the preservation of good mental health in particular by enabling and empowering individuals in the construction industry experiencing mental health problems to live with, manage and recover from their condition. We will achieve this through the provision of grants enabling construction industry individuals and organisations to access mental health services”
Jason Stapley – Pagabo Foundation Chairman
Fundraising has already begun on our JustGiving page ahead of our first charitable event in aid of the Foundation, Chitty Chitty Cannes Cannes. Teams from Pagabo, one of our alliance partners Sypro and other ecosystem members are going on a road trip of a lifetime to Cannes in time for MIPIM.

Overall the trustees were in agreement that a strong start has been made around creating initiatives and commencing fundraising. It was also raised that there needs to be more diversity on the trustee board with specifically female trustee members highlighted. So, if you feel like you or someone you may know is in a position to become a trustee member, get in contact with us today.
