We recently exhibited at Procurement Act Live 2025 alongside public and private sector organisations equally committed to ensuring the Procurement Act 2023 is adopted and implemented positively, to improve public sector procurement and support both buyers and suppliers in realising their ambitions.

There was a range of talking points covered throughout the day, from the intricacies of changes in procurement procedures and how to remain compliant through to the huge opportunity to level the playing field for those competing for public sector contracts.

We spoke to many interested professionals about the ways in which frameworks will be changing, as well as participating in a talk on how suppliers can maximise the benefit of new flexibility through the Procurement Act. Our head of procurement Shamayne Harris was in the hotseat offering her always trustworthy insight, alongside representatives from the Cabinet Office, Competition and Markets Authority, and National Social Value Taskforce.

Shamayne said: “Procurement Act Live was a brilliant opportunity to maintain our awareness of public and private sector sentiment around the recent procurement reform, during the week which the act went live. It was an honour to be sat alongside some influential women in the world of procurement and highlight what suppliers can be doing to seize the moment and adopt new behaviours that will offer sustained benefits.

“Through the many amazing resources currently available, anyone connected to procurement can continue educating themselves and investigating different perspectives. There are still some misconceptions in the market that we are actively helping to address, but overall we are excited by the new era of procurement that we have entered and want everyone to join us whether they already consider themself a procurement expert or not.

“While suppliers should be expected to shape their own destiny, there is a significant role for contracting authorities to play so that engagement can be enhanced throughout any procurement activity. This is a pivotal moment in time for buyers, suppliers and everyone in-between to embrace the changes and level the playing field – which was a theme on the day and one that we support as long as it means the overall standard of public sector improves.”

On the day, we invited attendees to share their burning questions with us. Though many questions were answered on the spot, there were many others that we will be sharing our insights on for all to hear. A small selection of these questions included:

  • What is the difference between open and closed frameworks and how do they work?
  • What role will AI have in the future of procurement?
  • Where do I start!?

Keep an eye out for more content coming soon, where we will answer these questions and continue to Act on Procurement.
