Pagabo Group’s regional excellence recognised with Yorkshire’s award win.
Celebrating its outstanding contribution to the region’s business landscape, our parent company Pagabo Group has been awarded the Mid-Market Business of the Year at this year’s The Yorkshires Business Awards hosted by Yorkshire Children’s Charity in Leeds.
The accolade, which recognises mid-sized organisations in the region that have demonstrated overall excellence and continued growth, marks a significant achievement for Pagabo Group. Based in Hull, the group specialises in procurement, contract management and social value enhancement across its core markets, including construction and the built environment.
At any time across its businesses, the group is involved in the management of around £10 billion worth of construction and development spend – providing an integrated approach to managing risk, governance and compliance for capital projects of all sizes and importance. Through increasing investment in technology and skills, Pagabo Group continues to operate through a digitally enabled, multi-brand ecosystem that is modernising procurement, project delivery and social value measurement to improve project outcomes for communities.
With its revenue almost doubling over the past four years, since 2022 Pagabo Group has given back more than £4 million to the public sector partners it manages procurement frameworks on behalf of – enabling many important social value initiatives to become possible, such as The Education Alliance’s Be Well programme.
Simon Toplass, CEO at Pagabo Group, said: “We are a proudly Yorkshire- and Hull-based business, so receiving this award which recognises our contribution to the region is a moment of real accomplishment – as well as encouragement to maintain the high-quality standards that we set.
“But it isn’t just about recognising the excellence Pagabo Group brings to the industry – through our commitment to innovation, social value and ethical procurement which all improve outcomes for clients, suppliers and communities – it is also about the people that work across the Pagabo Group and drive us forward.
“We pride ourselves on our high staff retention and the time allocated to ensuring that our teams are engaged and supported across all areas of the group. From annual team building days to providing the best facilities for our staff to work within, it is to our employees that Pagabo Group owes it success.”
Pagabo Group is the parent organisation for a group of cross-industry businesses including national procurement specialist Pagabo, leading contract management software organisation Sypro, and social value software and consultancy organisation Loop. The group is close to reaching 100 employees across its businesses, following a period of sustained growth and high staff retention.
Simon continued: “I’d like to thank Yorkshire Children’s Charity for the recognition and support. The work that the charity does – from building projects, special days out and winter support campaigns to help Yorkshires’ most vulnerable children – is hugely important for young people in the region, especially at this time of year. As a business, we do what we can to create better futures, in different ways to Yorkshire Children’s Charity but with the same ethos. It’s important that leaders in different spaces support one another and maximise positive outcomes across our region.”
