Project insights:Thurrock Council has appointed McLaughlin & Harvey to deliver tidal flood defence improvements along the Thames Estuary, procured through the Civils & Infrastructure Framework, which we manage on behalf of QE Facilities.
The scheme focuses on a 450-metre stretch of riverfront between Grays Town Wharf and Tilbury Docks, enhancing existing defences to better protect the area from tidal flooding.
The upgrades will improve resilience to climate change and rising sea levels, safeguarding local communities, infrastructure and economic activity along this key section of the estuary.
