Major Redevelopment Gives 1980s School Building A New Lease Of Life

14 March 2025

Students at Shipston High School in Warwickshire can now take full advantage of new state-of-the-art facilities, following the completion of the eight-phase project as part of a wider redevelopment to update the 1980s school buildings.

Procured through the Medium Works Framework, which is managed on behalf of contracting authority The Education Alliance, this stage of the project follows on from enabling works and provision of a new server room and IT suite in 2023, with Ashe focusing on classroom updates as part of this phase of the project.

Complete with new worktops, integrated Bunsen burners, fume cupboard and gas shut off valves, six new labs have been created in the aim of improving science teaching facilities at the school, alongside updates to other subject areas across the school.

Speaking on the project, our framework manager, Elliott Talbot, said: “Across all of the frameworks we manage, one of common characteristics has to be the lasting legacy our offerings have across the sector. This project is no different, with the work enabled through the procurement route being key to the development and growth of our next generation, providing them with the best possible environments to grow and develop.

“Industry pressures have continued to place the updating of the UK’s educational stock as a vital piece of activity throughout the industry, including for us here at Pagabo. We’ll continue to do our part in the development of education facilities, ensuring they are fit for the future.”

Also included in the works is a new electrical hub, created to house a substation and switch gear in preparation for a new school hall, planned for construction later this year.

Historically, the project saw the delivery of a new teaching block in 2017, with nine classrooms and associated works as part of the £2 million project.
