Project Insights: Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Manton to deliver Phase 2 of the refurbishment of Hillis Lodge, procured through the Medium Works Framework, which we manage on behalf of The Education Alliance.
The project will modernise a two-storey brick building dating from 1925 to accommodate the Yewcroft Community Mental Health Team, relocating from a nearby facility. Works include selective demolition, reconfiguration of internal layouts, new partitions, upgraded M&E systems, and the full renewal of internal finishes across a significant portion of the building. Delivered under a JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design (2016), the scheme will be carried out in a single phase and will adhere to strict health, safety, safeguarding, and security protocols due to the sensitive mental healthcare setting.
