Delivering a key operational hub at South Bank Quay through strategic procurement
South Tees Development Corporation has successfully delivered a new operations headquarters and office hub as part of the wider South Bank Quay development on Teesworks, working with appointed contractor GRAHAM.
This project was procured via the Major Works Framework, which we manage on behalf of contracting authority Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Trust.
The new facility forms a crucial part of the wider development to increase the delivery of offshore wind infrastructure across Teesworks. While the £8.5m million office hub was not part of the original project scope, it was quickly and compliantly awarded through the framework to ensure aligned delivery within the broader programme already being delivered by GRAHAM.
Our end-to-end procurement support enabled a seamless appointment and maintained continuity of contractor expertise across the full site.
A fast, compliant route to programme alignment
With the wider South Bank Quay site works already underway – valued at over £100 million – the client needed a trusted and efficient route to commission additional work not originally included in scope.
Using the Major Works Framework, South Tees Development Corporation was able to directly appoint GRAHAM to deliver the new office facility – ensuring speed, continuity, and commercial consistency with the existing contract.
The office hub will provide essential space for operational staff managing the quay’s future logistics, supporting the infrastructure that underpins the region’s growing offshore wind capacity.
