We’re delighted to see that Ashe Construction have handed over the newly built Campion School in Leamington Spa with zero defects and a delighted client!
The £6.5m build was procured through our Medium Works Framework with Warwickshire County Council selecting Ashe to deliver this exciting new facility following a Direct Award.
Take a ‘drone’s eye tour’ of this fantastic new building
Collaboration is key
Ashe have worked with Warwickshire County Council on more than 25 different projects, and the Campion School scheme was a truly collaborative approach from the outset with Ashe, Warwickshire County Council, and Campion School engaging in regular contact to provide project updates and deliver the works with minimal disruption.
A 3-phase build with an outstanding result
The project was completed in 3 main phases; phase 1 was refurbishment works within the existing school, which involved the conversion of 2 classrooms to form a new kitchen and dining space. Phase 2 was the main works to construct the new 2 storey steel framed stand-alone science and mathematics block with 16 classrooms. The final phase was the construction of a new 30 space car park and additional external landscaping works.
A handover ceremony was held with the school staff to celebrate this outstanding new building with its unique iridescent cladding and purpose-built science labs.
The new build’s footprint was on one of the school’s playgrounds and Ashe were required to remove some basketball hoops in order to facilitate the new science and maths building. As a gesture of goodwill, Ashe donated 4 new basketball hoops to the school to ensure the school’s pupils (and some staff) could still enjoy some basketball during their breaks.
When asked about working with the Ashe team Campion School’s Business Manager, Brian Langley, said; “It’s been quite inspirational to a lot of our own staff actually, in terms of the highest of standards that [Ashe] have adhered to and tried to achieve throughout the whole project, and that’s testament to the end product which is a fantastic facility.”
Brian was also asked whether he would recommend Ashe and work with them again and he commented; “Absolutely, one hundred percent! There’s no question about that at all, and in fact we hope to in the very near future. The whole approach has been very professional, very well organised, and the end result absolutely one hundred percent speaks for itself!”
Justin Howard, Construction & Quality Director at Ashe Construction Ltd, added: “We have worked with Warwickshire County Council on more than 25 projects and the Campion School scheme truly is one to be proud of.
“Our team have ensured the highest levels of safety and quality throughout and this is shown by our zero-defect delivery. The school were concerned about the impact the building works might have on their day-to-day activities but with regular communication and engagement we’ve developed an excellent relationship that has been paramount to the success of this works.”
Another delighted client
We’re absolutely delighted to hear such positive feedback from Campion School and are sure you can agree that the finished project is testament to the hard work and collaboration between Ashe and the client team throughout the project.
We congratulate Ashe on another excellent delivery and look forward to continuing our great partnership with them.
